Banner Ads – Club Score Posting Screens
Ad banners may be placed at the bottom of club score posting screens. These can be a standalone image or a series of images that cycle through at a defined rate. This image will also be displayed when the computer is idle. There are 130 golf clubs in Maine. In 2010, over 525,000 scores were posted from over 18,000 golfers throughout the season. Each score posted would view this ad!

The banner ad remains throughout the score posting process, which is four to five steps. Using the over 525,000 scores posted figure from 2010, the actual “impressions” of this type of ad could be over two million in a typical golf season. In 2011 the season will run from April 15th to October 31st.

MSGA Website Ads – Large Insert Type
This type of ad is the most visible on our website, appearing year round in the center “Insert” section of the home page. In 2010 there were over 550,000 hits on the MSGA website, all starting at the home page.

MSGA Website Ads – Public News Type
These smaller ads are placed in the right hand column, “Public News” section of the home page of the MSGA website. This is where many website visitors go year round for the latest news and additions to the website.

MSGA Website Ads – Results Pages
The tournament results pages of the MSGA website are one of the most popular destinations for the MSGA’s core golfers. In 2010 there were 63,000 hits to these pages alone. An ad would be displayed as sponsor of these pages throughout the season.

MSGA Website Ads – Tee Time Pages
The tournament Tee Time pages of the MSGA website are the second most popular destinations for the MSGA’s core golfers. In 2010 there were 48,000 hits to these pages alone. An ad would be displayed as sponsor of these pages throughout the season.

MSGA Website Ads – Live Scoring Pages
The online scoring pages of the MSGA website were new for 2009. Unfortunately, there was no way of tracking the “hits” during our last season. The software vendor, GHIN, has promised hits tracking for the 2011 season. In 2008 using a different program we were able to track 130,000 hits for the Maine Open alone. So we know the interest is there for this ever developing technology.

MSGA Mass Mailings – eRevision Newsletters
A program is offered through the GHIN handicapping system where players may sign up to have their handicap information emailed to them at every handicap revision. The MSGA has the ability to add news and sponsor advertising to each mailing. These mailings go out twice monthly, the 1st and the 15th, year round. There are around 18,000 golfers in Maine on the GHIN system, approximately 12,000 of these players have signed up for eRevision mailings and the number is growing every day. We have shown an 85% click through rate for these mailings mostly because these are all mailings these core golfers have asked to receive. This is a great method to reach a targeted audience.
